These pictures of men field shooting, especially those I took in Montana and the Dakotas are so typical portraits of "man the hunter" that they are almost breathtaking. After all is said and done, this is what men have done since primordial times. It is more than just our heritage, this urge to go into the wilderness with a spear, a gun or a bow to bring home food for our families is what men have done since the very beginning of time. It is a part of our nature, the primeval force of our lives.
